My Birth Story

Well to start off on Monday night my husband came home from work and I had been having small contractions. So I told him I really think that we should go on a walk to help them get stronger. So we went on a walk. I decided to jog a little. When we got home the contractions started getting really bad. 2-4 min apart for 2 1/2 hours. So I called the Doctor at about midnight and he said to come in.

When we got to the hospital they put me in the birthing natural room. After being there for a few hours they finally admitted us. The contractions were horrible! Yes... I was screaming and crying the entire time. It was SUPER hard breathing in and out and trying not to think about them. They were not giving me a break... barely 2 min. apart on them. By far the most painful thing I have felt.

The nurse was very supportive in me doing natural. She tried helping me breath and very encouraging. My poor husband... trying to be supportive in me doing natural and trying to help me and I just yelled at him most of the time lol. Poor guy. He was amazing.

After about 7 hours I was like screw this! Give me the epi NOW. My husband kept asking me are you sure? You have your plan... your not thinking straight. And I was like NO I don't care about my plan anymore! This hurts too much I can't do it anymore. So they got someone in there fast and gave me the drugs! lol...

I really wish I could have endured to the end but HOLY COW. I'll have you know... my neighbor did natural and called me a baby. LADIES every women is different. Everyone feels the pain different and different strength of it. So don't you dare call me a baby ;) I'm so glad I tried though. It was an amazing experience.

Our little one was born 7-30-13 at exactly 10 AM one day early from his due date. He weight 7.2 lb. and 20 inches long. Very healthy little boy! So amazing and I feel so blessed to have this little man in my life.

WHAT THEY DON'T TELL YOU (for the most part)

So I'm just going to say it like it is my friends! This is for the people that haven't had a baby before... just a heads up. You know the massive needle/tube they put in you for the epidural? It doesn't hurt. It just feels really weird. After having the baby... WARNING first pee HURTS like holly Hannah. Mine was bad enough it hurt for almost 2 weeks going to the bathroom. Did they mention your vagina is the size of Texas and you scream at the sight of it the first time? Oh yes... and my favorite that no one talks about- depending on the pain killers you go on you WILL be constipated :) and let me tell you it's awesome not pooping for a week. I know this is all way T.M.I. but I'm tell'n like it is! Did I forget anything? Please comment below if I did.

Look like crap feel like crap...

He was a screamer when he first came out.

Me: Brett's practicing his artwork.

Jessica S.: That's disgusting. Scott thinks it's hilarious

Summer M.: That is kinda scary... Lol you guys must be having too much fun.

Mom: ----------no reply

Jacob:----------no reply

Dad: He needs to work on his artwork

Camille T.: Everyone here thinks the pic is a little creepy. You were obviously bored.

Tough Cookie

For sure ready to have this baby... The last few days have been way rough trying to get him to come! I had my membranes stripped at my 39 weeks, lots of walking, taking Prim Rose Oil and acupuncture etc. ;) Which I'll have you know acupuncture doesn't hurt. BUT between all these things I have had the worst contractions! But... not good enough to go in :(

I'm a bad a-- momma mowing the lawn at 39 1/2 weeks. Yeah that's right!

Oh Salt Water Sandals... I will always and forever love you and will never grow too old to wear you. So comfy and my feet fit in them because they are a little bit of a wider shoe. My hands and feet have been so bloated and in pain the passed few weeks!

Going Natural! Ah!

I have to start out and say that I have always been 100% give me the epidural because I don't want to feel any pain! But... then I started to do my research a few month before my due date. I did a lot of research! And I changed my mind and wanted to go all natural.

It is actually super sad to me that most people spend more time researching the new phone they want to buy, what school they want to go to or anything else! And don't do any research on what they want for their birth. They just know they don't want pain! And I'm not saying an epidural is a bad thing, don't get me wrong. But it's sad to me that such a big choice is lightly decided and so trusting.

There are many reason why I want to do natural. I can walk around, go to the restroom, eat, recover faster, less stress on my baby etc. I could go on much more. There are lots of pros and cons for an epidural and I feel like the only real big con for natural is that is hurts lol! But with the knowledge I know I feel like in away it's a super spiritual and a bond with my baby and my body was made for this! So I will feel very accomplished.

I am definitely flexible with my birth plan because I want what is best for my baby. My goal is to do natural all the way. If you have never taken really much time to research I really recommend you do. Even if you still want an epidural it's great to know what your options are. Here's how to help you get started.

Research (what it does to you and the baby. Cause effect. What is that? Etc.)-

Inducing your labor
Epidural
Doula
Birth Center/ Hospital
Midwife/ Doctor
Birthing in a tub (a lot of people think this is weird! Learn why people do it ;)
Forceps/ vacuum
C-section
...and so much more!!!

Here are some great books! Also a great movie to watch is The business of being born(Netflix).

39 weeks!!!
